The Conference on the Future of Europe is launched on May 9, 2021 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Citizens can speak out via a multilingual digital platform. Indeed, this digital tool which centralizes debates in 24 languages “‹“‹has been operational since April 19. The conclusions of the exchanges will be published in spring 2022 while France will chair the Council of the EU (between January and June 2022). The French Presidency is counting on the results of this consultation to make its proposals next spring, and to express itself on:
“¢ the orientations they wish to give to the European Union;

Europeans can, for the first time, give their opinion on any subject they consider important for the future of the EU. The conference creates a European space for debate between citizens and European institutions.----------------------------------------
WHAT BODIES ARE ORGANIZING THE CONFERENCE ON THE FUTURE OF EUROPE?
The conference is organized by the three institutions (Commission, Parliament, Council), with a joint presidency of the three presidents. Alongside this presidency, an executive committee brings together three representatives and four observers from each institution. A plenary assembly will ensure that the recommendations made by European citizens are the subject of a debate, the outcome of which is not determined in advance and the scope of which is not limited to predefined areas of action. The plenary assembly of the conference will meet at least every six months and will be composed of representatives of the European institutions and bodies, in particular the European Committee of the Regions and the Economic and Social Committee. This assembly is to meet for the first time on May 10, the day after the inauguration of the conference.
The Conference on the Future of Europe is made up of a series of citizen-led debates and discussions that will allow everyone across Europe to share their ideas and help shape our common future.
